Welcome to my "John Bevins - Amphicar" page

In August of 2003, on my way to the Sturgis, South Dakota biker ralley, I made my usual stop at John Bevins' house to visit with him and his dog, Sasha. However, on this particular visit John had a bit of a surprise...a perfectly restored Amphicar!! I have to say that one of the coolest things I've ever done is drive a car into a lake and then cruise around. John said, "Anybody can drive a car into a lake. It's driving out of the lake that's tough!" How right he is. At any rate, here are some pictures of the gala event. I've put the expanded pictures on Comcast's server (heck...I'm surely paying them enough to store my large files!), so download times should be fairly fast, depending on your pipe, of course.
