Welcome to Alison Robbenhaar Fine Art.

Hello, my name is Alison Robbenhaar. Thank you for visiting my website!

I was originally born in Connecticut, but eventually I moved To New York city to attend the Art Students' Leaugue.  In 1985 I earned my bachelor's degree at Boston University School of Fine Arts where I studied with San Francisco Bay area instructors.  In 1992 I earned an Asssociate's Degree in Culinary Arts at the Culinary Institute of America.  After visiting many times, I moved to New Mexico in 2003.  I found the vast landscapes and wide open spaces compelling.  I joined the Harwood Art Center where I now hold a studio and I paint plein air when weather allows (and even sometimes when it doesn't...<:^).  I'm a member of the New Mexico Plein Air Painter's Organization - a group with whom I regularly paint.

About my work...

I try to capture open space, which is rapidly being consumed by real estate developers.  I regularly go to places that have been slated for development and try to capture the essence of these areas before they are developed.  I also regularly go to designated open space to capture the lasting impression and beauty of these dwindling wilderness areas.

All my work is done outside.  I never finish work in the studio.  My goal is to capture the impression of the natural beauty that surrounds us.  I hope you enjoy my paintings.

Please come back often.  Feel free to contact me via the e'mail link at the bottom of the page with any questions you many have.
